The truth may lie in the dramatic sequence of photographs shown towards the end of the film. These startling photos; taken at a Russian Trail Riding Competition, capture the pain and fear expressed by horses being cued, in what we commonly view as acceptable ways, to perform for that ribbon. It is very stirring and challenging if you ride horses, but worth seeing the horse in a way not many of us take the time to do. I’ll probably come back and add to this review as this is a DVD I want to watch a few more times. I had put it on in the background so I could work while it was on - well, its not often a DVD will keep my attention long enough to stop what I have in front of me to do. The horsepeople Stormy May has included in this DVD are authors I have admired, some I have met, but generally they are people I probably won’t get a chance to meet in this liftetime. I have my favourites on this DVD, so I liked how the DVD could be viewed as a documentary, or I can now just go back and revisit those I tended to warm to more than others. (I won’t share which ones with you as I think it is important you get what you need from a DVD like this what you need, and not what I suggest you do). I know when I watch this DVD at a later date, something else will become my favourite insight, but for now it was really pertinent for me to understand ‘being in the moment’ as I needed that gentle reminder. If you have read any of the books by Mark Rashid, Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling, Carolyn Resnick and Linda Kohanov or visited Alexander Nevzorov’s webpage, you are in for a treat when you see this DVD.

I was speechless! I cried for the longest time. Sometimes it’s hard to look at what you’re doing with your horses and be totally honest. It’s a journey of a lifetime. It challenges us to be better people. Horses keep us honest when we listen.
 
I’ve followed the work of several of the featured horse people in your video and it was wonderful to see them speak in this venue. I wanted to send a copy to every horse person I know. I long for them to “see”. Could they “see”?

      I had a friend send me this DVD and I decided to review it while working today.
 
      I had to stop working and just watch it. In our busy lives we need reminders of being in the moment, and today this DVD gave me that gift again.
 
      There is so much I could write about this DVD but it is still all swirling inside me. It is certainly a reminder for anyone who needs to reconnect with their horses (or with anyone in their lives). You interviewed the authors of some of my favourite books, and I enjoyed their message. BUT what came through to me was your passion for the horse and because of this; you made their words have substance and in a way where you made each message intermingle and dance together, giving such a wonderfully complete message.
